“Some time after midnight, a series of coordinated attacks occurred in the Lowtown section of Madripoor. Gunshots and explosions could be heard from up to a mile away. While violence is rather common on the island, it has largely been isolated to a few areas and was mainly between rival gangs.” A Filipino reporter stands on the rooftop of a new commercial building in Hightown that overlooks sections of Lowtown. Her pitch black hair swirls in the wind, much like the smoke that can be seen in wisps all throughout the area. Tempora mutantur, et nos mutamur in illis. ~Ovid
The words of the poet Ovid ring true to this day. Times are changing and we are changing with them. Mutants become more and more apparent as the days go on, and the world’s response to them is varied. Some fear us, others respect us, others wish to see our demise.
Now is the time for us to stand together putting aside petty disputes and hurt feelings. The World is watching our every move and we as a society can not afford to misstep. With incidents like the attack on Genosha, Sentinel attacks all over New York, and increasing reports of mutant on human violence... [Read More]

Words From The Professor
A great time of change is upon us. The struggle for equality has never been this heated and it falls to all of us to stay strong and ever vigilant. I feel your fear and uncertainties and know that many wonder if this makes them weak and cowardly.
Fear is something we all deal with - whether it is something as seemingly small as fearing not being liked to fear for our very lives. Acting in the face of fear builds character and strength. Shrinking in the face of fear leaves us paralyzed and power-less.
Courage is not lack of fear, but rather it is taking action in the face of, and despite, fear. Take that fear,... [Read More]

"At approximately 10:45 this evening, the small coastal town of Kennebunkport, Maine went completely dark." The evening news anchor was relayed the story she had been handed just a few minutes earlier in her typical laconic manner. She tried to force in some emotion, but day in and day out of reporting tragic stories had pretty much completely desensitized her to such things. If she was reading a grocery list, it would not have sounded much different.
"Early reports suggested that the town's power grid suffered some kind of malfunction, leaving the citizens without electricity for the night. Police officials and volunteer firefighters from neighboring towns arrived to offer assistance, bringing food, blankets and flashlights. What they found looked more like a war zone than a simple power outage. Information is still sketchy, but it seems like some kind of natural disaster hit the area. The US Geological Survey reports that there was not enough seismic activity to indicate an earthquake.... [Read More]
